Usually when you take cover (from all the paintball stuff) you don't really back on Wall like in MGS. Looks a bit jarring in 2D. Would be nice if player or the AI can hide in cover facing the action instead (and walk backwards). Dark tint looks effective hint already for cover.

Thanks for the feedback! You're right, I see your point. But, for now I'm happy with the mechanic and look of it. I like the clarity of knowing if I'm in cover or not. The reload animations plays and reads well when you're backed up against something. It may change though...
