🧵 I’ve spent more than a year documenting the near death of historic Mercy Hospital, Chicago's oldest chartered hospital. It's a so-called safety net that treated mostly poor, elderly & Black patients. It was bought in the 11th hour. But before then, it would slowly fade away.

Presiding judge grants city's motion to move both lawsuits over the vaccine policy under the same judge, Judge Horan. This is the judge who the FOP just tried to have kicked off the case because her former law firm worked on the Police Accountability Task Force report.

Judge overseeing Chicago and FOP case over vaccine policy quickly rejects union's motion to disqualify herself. FOP's argument was that the judge used to work for a law firm that did some work on the Police Accountability Task Force report and so therefore should remove herself.

Should say, this hearing got moved from the morning to 1pm today. A separate court hearing involving the city and FOP just wrapped up last hour with no news to report.
With the lawsuit between the city and the police union in court this morning for a hearing on the FOP motion to change judges, the most recent post on the FOP website tells members "DO NOT COMPLY" which would seem to violate the restraining order on Catanzara.

When I asked Black Caucus Chair Ald. Jason Ervin for the letter this morning, he said he didn’t have a copy of it and referred me to Tom Bowen, political strategist and campaign manager for Emanuel’s first campaign. 🤔

Does he mean the Carpenter score, or like, The Monster Mash?
KAT referenced Kobe listening to Halloween music to prepare for games. He says he watches video of two gorillas fighting.
