Two places I recently donated are @sanctuaryto and @SHJNetwork but lots of other orgs help those living on the streets.
People experiencing homelessness are freezing to death in Toronto. FREEZING. TO DEATH. In one of the world’s richest cities. Let that sink in and please reflect on what it means when we allow this to happen…What a tragedy! 💔

“Our problem isn’t capitalism. It’s too much regulation, which leads to monopolies.” If there are no anti-trust laws, then there’s nothing to stop the expansion of monopolies under unregulated capitalism. If you hate monopolies, then you’d really hate unregulated capitalism.

Just a reminder that “excess profits” is redundant. All profits are excess. Profit is literally revenue leftover after expenses are paid. It means you charged more for your products than it cost to produce them.

Big Oil does not gouge customers, engage in monopoly practices, buy politicians, or conduct organized criminal activity of any kind to maintain their profits & power. That's why Canada's principled politicians are cutting a few cents tax to save you at the pump! #canlab #cdnpoli

Apparently the rocket ship kind of product managers are still around. Sigh. Foot soldiers of capitalism.
Dennis Gruending in today's Globe & Mail on how the RCMP spied on medicare and community clinic activists in Saskatchewan during the battle against the corporate-financed anti-medicare doctors strike of 1962. #canlab #cdnpoli

Comrade besties, Jean made me a zine for my birthday and had it printed as a fundraiser. I wanted to let you know where the money went so you can keep supporting these causes directly. Here is a list: 1/

Incarceration is also a huge boon to prison profiteers like the bail bond industry, the money transfer industry, commissary vendors, specialized phone co's, etc. Mass incarceration is a $182 BILLION/yr industry, a manifestation of capital’s drive toward maximizing profit.

Don’t let them fool you. The so-called richest nation in the world could fund healthcare and housing for all, but it doesn’t want to because then it couldn’t exploit poor and working class people.

As humorous as this little guy being eaten alive by sperm is, this graphic is clearly meant to be a nazi flag/swastika reference. Cowardly and manipulative misuse of graphic design from benhickey.ie/ .

The irresponsible rhetoric of you and your predecessor and your administrations is literally the reason why asians are facing hate crimes and discrimination, you disingenuous fart.
It was great to meet with you, @bts_bighit. Thanks for all you’re doing to raise awareness around the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination. I look forward to sharing more of our conversation soon.

It’s not “Asian-hate”, it’s sinophobia. There wasn’t a sudden increase in hate crimes around 2020 because your phenotype or culture magically changed overnight, but because society’s impression of these things did.

Hey, folks. I just wanted to give you a heads up that starting this Wednesday, for all of Pride Month, we’ll give a bag of Skittles to anyone who stops by the Rainbow House in Lethbridge for a selfie. It’s our way of spreading joy.

Lol the anti mandate protesters were quickly ignored by the large group of Saturday Bellwoods picnickers and Queen West shoppers. None of who are wearing masks in the stores. Like what?
This is what we mean when we say the lives of Asian workers are seen as cheap or disposable, and that’s what makes them targets of street violence. Yan Zhiwan was a human being, a loved member of his community, and here his murder is reduced to a cheap racist joke.

Elon Musk told the United Nations he would give them $6 billion to end world hunger if they showed him a detailed plan of how they would use the money. They called his bluff and gave him their plan— and then they never got the money. Now he’s buying Twitter for $45 billion.
