Fox News hosts suggest coronavirus variants are made up to help Democrats: CAIN: “Always a new variant.” HEGSETH: “Count on a variant about every October, every two years.” CAIN: “You’re probably right…” HEGSETH: [mimicking phone call] “We’re gonna need a new variant here.”

I don't know if anyone else is watching the T-Wolves-Sixers game right now but it's been incredible.
Watched the Timberwolves-Heat game tonight and was thinking how rough it has been for the T-Wolves fan base over the past 15 years. Happy for that fan base. You have a really interesting team this year.

No overhype: This is a really worth your time piece by @ffrommer here.
You know about the Olympic boycotts in 1980 and '84. Less remembered is the effort to boycott the 1936 Berlin Games after Hitler rose to power. That movement was far bigger than today's Beijing boycott push, but it narrowly failed. This is fascinating. washingtonpost.com/sports/ol…

As we saw in 2019, I think we are looking at two regular season college football games (Michigan-Ohio State and Alabama-Auburn) both drawing more than 10 million viewers on the same day.

And there's your moment.
With no disrespect to Brad Nessler at all — an excellent game caller — I miss Verne Lundquist today. I loved Verne on Alabama-Auburn and this moment is setting up for a Verne call.

Ohio State (-7, 64.5) at Michigan: 86% of bets and 93% of the money wagered is on the Buckeyes minus the points @PointsBetUSA. Line had been as high as Ohio St -8 earlier in the week. Influential money on Michigan +8/+7.5 hit market Friday morning. Public overwhelmingly on OSU.

I grew far away from any college football hotbed (no offense, Fordham alums) but I did live one year in Ann Arbor and then got to see Alabama at LSU in Baton Rouge one year. Those two experiences gave me some slice of why it means so much to so many people. Thankful for that.

Two years and one month off!
When Michigan goes 11-1/10-2 under Jim Harbaugh in 2019, please Hot Tub Time Machine all the takes this month. Thanks.

Barack Obama was in his FIRST TERM the last time Michigan beat Ohio State. That feels like 234 years ago.

This was such a phenomenal piece.
In this week’s @newyorker, I profile @CeCeLMoore. The story is about genetic genealogy. It’s part true crime. And somewhere along the way, it resolves a family mystery for “Game of Thrones” author, @GRRMspeaking. newyorker.com/magazine/2021/…

Find yourself someone who loves you as much as ESPN and Fox Sports management loves former football players and coaches.

Do they really need six analysts?

May appear like a small thing but small details are often the best thing for viewers: Props to the Fox Sports operations people who chose and set up the location for the pregame/halftime show of Michigan-Ohio State. The backdrop is really phenomenal, especially with snow.
