Suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50 and women under 35 in the UK.  We need a new 10-year cross-government suicide prevention plan to help save more lives.

It was a pleasure to spend some time with these brave families. Looking forward to seeing further details to be brought forward by the Government on the Online Safety Bill.
Bereaved families campaigning for online safety met at least four present or past culture secretaries on Monday: @michelledonelan @sajidjavid @NickyMorgan01 @jeremywright @ruthmoss71 @5RightsFound @NSPCC @mollyroseorg Full story here: telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/12…

Pro suicide and self-harm content online can have a devastating impact. A new criminal offence for encouraging self-harm is welcome, but the much needed detail should be published quickly.

After much reflection I have decided that I will not be standing again at the next General Election. Serving as the Member of Parliament for Bromsgrove remains an incredible privilege, and I will continue to support the Government and the causes I believe in.

It was a pleasure to join the fantastic @GiveUsAShout this evening. Thank you for your fantastic work in suicide prevention.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our event on the role Shout plays in #suicideprevention and its economic benefits, and to those who shared their lived experiences. The more we talk and listen, the more we break down the barriers for those who are struggling to cope 💙

Such an inspiration - that did so much for the MND community. RIP Doddie Weir OBE.
We’re sorry to hear that Doddie Weir OBE has died. Since sharing his MND diagnosis in 2017, Doddie became an inspiration to many, raising awareness and campaigning tirelessly on behalf of those with MND. Our thoughts are with Doddie’s wife Kathy, his 3 sons, family and friends.

Child abusers should not be allowed to simply change their name - and continue their horrific crimes undetected. @SarahChampion right to highlight this issue again, which was a clear recommendation in our @csjthinktank report last year. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63636409

This is a very disappointing outcome. Racism and hate must be stamped out wherever it is found.
🚨BREAKING: The CPS has DROPPED drop hate charges against two men on the May 2021 “Convoy for Palestine”. This means that no one is currently charged for the incident that saw protesters honk horns and scream “F*** their mothers, rape their daughters.” thejc.com/news/news/anger-as…
