I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Basic Income since 2013. Here's a list of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments, unconditional cash transfer studies, and cash dividend research. The data speaks for itself. Data: teddit.net/r/BasicIncome/wik… #basicincome

The whole point of a Basic Income is that it isn't targeted/restricted. I can't see how giving adults a BI wrecks a good marriage. Bluntly, if a marriage is based on one partner being dependent on the other then that seems unequal & controlling.
It isn't my job to improve your life, it's my job to improve my wife's life UBI is a terrible solution because unless it's specifically targeted to married couples (it won't be) it'll further incentivize the destruction of the family

As long as unconditional basic income doesn't exist, and citizens feel their governments don't do anything for them and care more about non-citizens, then voters seem more likely to support solutions like internment camps and prison ships for asylum seekers, instead of housing.

"This is one of the more rare tornadoes that we've seen in recorded Mississippi history given its longevity and strength over a period of time." Having unconditional basic income won't stop disasters like this, but it would certainly help people recover from them.
A rare, long-track tornado left a trail of devastation across western Mississippi on Friday night — killing at least 23 people, tearing buildings and leaving thousands of homes without power. n.pr/40ztzuV

Dolly Parton knows this, which is why she provided 6 months of basic income to people after a disaster destroyed their homes in Tennessee. A study was then done of the results and yes, the income was extremely helpful, and people preferred it to non-cash. inthemesh.com/archive/dolly-…

600k in North Carolina stand to get health care and it’s because the state’s Republicans embraced Medicaid expansion. It’s a remarkable turnaround, the kind we haven’t seen in a while. Here’s how it happened. huffpost.com/entry/north-car…

"People will get left behind, and this will be one of the most important things to try to combat. Having a 0% left behind policy. We need to make sure AI benefits all." The Age of AI is here. The Age of Universal Basic Income must begin too. UBI is how to leave no one behind.
If it’s not clear yet, this is what I think will happen soon. Every major tech company except Apple has announced their own LLM. Apple have spent years perfecting their on-device neural engine. Capable of some absolute insane operations. Loads of compute in a small and energy… nitter.fdn.fr/i/web/status/163…

These people are supposed to be pro-family. They don't like abortions and they want women to have kids, and yet money to help reduce infant mortality is immediately seen as handouts for immigrants? They also speak about freedom but insist on limiting what moms can buy. I see so…

I am excited to introduce the Financial Support for Families with Children Amendment Act of 2023. This bill will provide a $1,000 cash payment per child to families living in deep poverty in the District (individuals making $10,000 or less, joint earners making up to $20,000).
