Honestly, my anger isn’t even aimed at Hollywood. I know that industry is racist and will continue to spew anti-Arab racism to serve the US’ imperialism. I’m just disappointed in how quickly Southwest Asian and North African voices are dismissed whenever they voice their concerns
i feel like people are being really dismissive about the appropriative and orientalist nature of Dune and its author. i don't understand why somehow our community has decided that this book/movie should not face the criticism that others have, but it reeks of islamophobia

Here's another crop of the map I shared previously. This one shows a continent that is dominantly inhabited by humans. #fantasymaps #rpg #dnd #cartography

Does 5K even cover moving expenses from the West Coast to FLA? I doubt it.

Yeah colonialism is just about the destruction of life. But I know and feel we can outlive it. From here in my room in Riccarton I see the Kahikatea trees that are 600 years old. I imagine them outliving Christchurch and the Colony of New Zealand.

I think the local environment helped preserve it, the dryness, arid and warm Same conditions which preserved so much of Egypt's and Xinjiang's historical buildings and documents
