#OTD 1976, Brian Stewart, West Belfast, 13, schoolboy. Murdered by the British Army after having his skull fractured from being hit by a plastic bullet, a soldier aimed at Brian but said he was hit by a brick and this cause him to jerk, this was a common excuse used by the Brits.
#Otd 1731: Parliament met at the new parliament house on College Green, #Dublin for the 1st time. Was home to world’s 1st purpose built 2 chamber parliament house! After the Acts of Union, housed @bankofireland. So admired that @britishmuseum & Capitol Hill in Washington copied!
