France welcomes India as it joins #UNSC for the next 2 years. We are eager to work side by side to uphold international law, fight terrorism and defend #multilateralism. To this end, we also need a UNSC reform that gives India a permanent seat!
As starters, consider leaving the defunct @UN if they cannotAccommodate a #permanentSeat for aNation like #India, which reflects1/5 ofHumanity &was itsCharterMember, with an enviableRecord! Also, let us put in place a clear #doctrine (akin to Monroe),which is insulated from politics!
At #UN75, #G4 – India, Japan, Germany, Brazil – who are eligible for #PermanentSeat at UNSC have called for 'urgent reforms to better reflect contemporary realities'. With China on collision course with almost every nation, @UN risks becoming 'obsolete' if #UNSC is not expanded.
Wow. Dr Jaishankar ji we have great faith in your handling. We must succeed this time and multilateralism in UN must be acceptable. Waiting like a farmer waiting for rains. @blsanthosh@samirsinh189@bjpsanjaybhatia
Despite immense contributn,#G4's push for reforms was derailed by China, who with veto power hs been stonewalling Indias entry 4 #PermanentSeat in #UNSC.With Chinas evil unilateralism, representn&voice of devloping nations in decision making is indeed need of #UN75 of 21st century
#UNSC with 5 permanent members with rogue China being 1 of them has bcum expendable. Time for reforms overdue with #G4 natns hvng a big role 2 play esp India. With unprecedented pandemic crisis let loose over d world by China it doesn't any longer deserve 2 enjoy d #PermanentSeat
"Multilateralism needs to represent the reality of the contemporary world.Only Reformed Multilateralism with a reformed UN can meet the aspirations of the humanity.
Today the fury of the pandemic provides the context for its rebirth.Let us not lose this chance " PM
