Yeah, this bullshit is part of the federal rules governing EBT and SNAP. Recipients of these programs can’t buy hot food anywhere. So after a long day at work (since most beneficiaries *do* work), they don’t have the option to just grab and go.

Weirdly you can get these same items if the deli has wrapped, priced, and refrigerated them. I hate it.

In my state, prepared food is not eligible thru SNAP benefits.

It’s not your state, it’s all states. It’s a federal program.
