i wish these people could take their valid criticisms of terrible jail conditions (mold, bad food, solitary confinement, cruel COs, lack of access to counsel, etc) and expand that to criticism of jail in general! but i don’t think they’ll get there.
not sure what’s happening away from the stage…
On the otherside of this event a person with tactical press gear got arrested for having a Crocodile Dundee sized knife. That person has been moved out of the area already.Show this thread
matt braynard says he first met joe kent in march. i guess joe paid him $4000 immediately upon meeting him.
the kent campaign has not disclosed any payments for anything that could be interpreted as an office space rental, but they have made payments directly to matt braynard, braynard's other company (external affairs), and 9seven consulting, datwyler's consulting company.Show this thread
the slideshow switches to a picture of the qanon shaman inside the capitol. a woman dressed head to toe in american flag print shouts “FREE THE HORNED GOD!” braynard says that man’s mother was supposed to speak today “but was intimidated out of her first amendment rights.”
aha, it’s because the rally is over. braynard is warning people to leave peacefully and stay in groups. i guess the cops are anxious about the transition - this crowd will leave the fenced in permitted area and pass a small number of counter protesters across the street.
there seems to be no rhyme or reason for the way the cops keep marching by and reforming their line in front of the capitol reflecting pool. it honestly just seems like they know it makes for a striking photograph - the police protecting the capitol this time.
last time i walked up the national mall, it was eerily empty, but for the steady stream of people heading toward the capitol, many of whom would go on to break into the building. today it’s just tourists and food trucks & i’m getting some lamb gyro.
