Awesome. It takes a village and we are blessed with the best. Mvto @MuscogeeNation + @TKissee13 for creating Native youth opportunities - and to my brother @TheWalkingL and dad for escorting my young man to his 1st competitive (and intertribal) archery + trap shoot competition.
Spent the day at a Native American Youth shooting and archery competition with my nephew Hunter and his ⁦@SeqActivities⁩ teammates. Today was his first attempt at trap and he got more than share of clays 👍🏼 #NativeSports@stacyleeds⁩ ⁦@CherokeeNation

Spending a day or two at another law schools can be so informative - just make sure it’s not the Monday after some big football game or you might be served a side of gloat with your entree. So yes, @UUtah v. @ASU was a thing AND. @DeanKronkWarner is a lovely host.

A very memorable moment in my childhood. A few years later Wilma Mankiller became @CherokeeNation Principal Chief. Both champions of civility, normalizing women as leaders for kids like me.
#ASULaw is proud to be named for Sandra Day O'Connor who became the first woman Supreme Court Justice on this day in 1981. An incredible and groundbreaking jurist who dedicated her life to public service and the rule of law, O’Connor continues to inspire us every day. #OnThisDay

Today my extended family celebrates the incomparable Aunt Lillian Leeds: 100 years old! Epic. Strong @CherokeeNation woman. Cool as a cucumber. Has heard/seen/participated in ALL of your nonsense. 0utlived ALL of those Leeds men from Fort Gibson, I.T. Still the life of the party.

We sure had fun at #PLSI55 this morning. In my 2L summer, I got my dream job clerking at Native American Rights Fund where John was the big boss. Thanks @Beetso, Matt, @NDNrights @AILCinc and @asuilp for a solid 2 hour CLE.

Always good stuff from @carlyforOK and @UARKLaw’s @IFAIUArk.
Keep an eye out later today for my interview with @AliyahJChavez at @IndianCountry covering the efforts of the @NativeFarmBill and our newly released report, “Gaining Ground,” on Indian Country’s policy priorities for the anticipated 2023 Farm Bill.

Yes, we got laughed at several times by old Cherokee men in their pickups. Full packs, heat of the day. Nope, we don’t need a ride, but thanks you. 😂Grand Canyon adventure, T-13 days.

Great Food and Ag story to challenge your stereotypes. Yes, Phoenix is hot, but people have been growing food in the desert for thousands of years. Melissa talks hot-weather plants, fall tomatoes + the bonus human interaction that grows from a front yard garden. Worth a listen.
Master gardener Melissa Kruse-Peeples’ life is steeped in gardening. Along with having two gardens of her own, she manages the garden at ASU’s Polytechnic campus and helps the university with urban garden education and outreach. Listen to her tips on how to garden in Phoenix. 🌱

For the LawProfs looking to include Indian law content in other law school courses. . . a good read. Also punctuates the need for Indian law educators to be connected to the on-the-ground work of Indigenous Nations.

Unequivocally, yes. What the Osage people and their governing documents say about it should certainly matter, if not resolve the question.
Is the Osage Nation on a reservation? One court says no, but McGirt question isn’t settled @stacyleeds @Osagenation oklahoman.com/story/news/sta… via @theoklahoman_
