It baffles me how sometimes I have to wait years for a legitimately classic movie to air on @TCM (Play “Marat/Sade” please!) while bad films sometimes manage to show up on the channel more times than they should. Madonna’s “Who’s The Girl?” is a perfect example. Truly terrible.

It’s going to be a busy weekend for me. Two nights of @TheNewPornos. If I’m not too exhausted from being entertained on Friday & Saturday by my favorite Canadian supergroup (sorry, Broken Social Scene), I might return to the @aladdintheater on Sunday to see @littleesther perform.
While I likely won’t watch the game, it sure seems like the #WorldCup2022 match between the US & Iran is an especially significant one for both teams. I do feel like if the latter team loses, there could be much harsher consequences for them than if America is defeated. ⚽️🤷‍♂️🏆

On this Monster Monday, I’m commemorating @joe_dante’s 75th Birthday by watching one of his earliest works, 1978’s Piranha. It’s no masterpiece but it has its moments none the less. Hard to believe that the film’s available in 4K now. Might do another of his afterwards. Matinee?
Did you know that there’s a Scientology network on @directv? I didn’t. Why they’re carrying a channel devoted to that religious cult remains a mystery. To me, they’re slightly above Newsmax which is still on Directv Streaming. I don’t want any of my money going towards either.

Happy 100th, Sparky! What are you waiting for? Get out there and start reading! 🎂
Today would be Charles "Sparky" Schulz's 100th birthday! To commemorate this centennial celebration with the @SchulzMuseum, more than 80 cartoonists paid tribute to his life's work by honoring Sparky in their comic strips today. See them all at schulzmuseum.org/tribute/. #Schulz100

It was a little weird reading all those strips by cartoonists paying their respects to Charles Schulz on his 100th Birthday. They were so sincere. Reminded me of @KartoonistKelly’s tributes that he does for the recently departed in @TheOnion albeit way less funny than his.
With Irene Cara’s passing today, here’s hoping that @TCM will pay tribute to her with a night featuring the films she was in. Sadly, there were too few. Hopefully that would include a showing of the rarely-seen “Aaron Loves Angela” along with “Sparkle” and “Fame”.
This is the absolute worst part of being a publicist. I can't believe I've had to write this, let alone release the news. Please share your thoughts and memories of Irene. I'll be reading each and every one of them and know she'll be smiling from Heaven. She adored her fans. - JM
Flipped through the news channels and there was “Breaking News” on one saying that six were shot dead at a Walmart and the first thought I had for a sec was that it was a copycat killing until seeing it was about new evidence from the Virginia one. Breaking news can be misused.
In and out of my family’s Thanksgiving dinner within two hours. I’m still mulling over whether I should be happy or sad that this is the shortest it’s ever been. Now I don’t what to do with the rest of my evening. I’ll probably just waste it watching tv like I usually do.
In all the time I’ve been living in the Northwest, I have never seen a snail in person outside of a zoo before tonight. Plenty of slugs but no snails. Now the first one I come across is slowly slithering across my porch. Even my Bigfoot lawn ornament in the last pic is surprised.
It’s a good thing I’m not a soccer fan or I’d be really torn as to whether or not to watch the World Cup in Qatar. Despite that nation’s record of human rights violations, millions of people are going to ignore them and tune in to see if their team wins. invidious.fdn.fr/UMqLDhl8PXw
