3) I still wouldn't recommend adopting Go, for pretty much anything. It's full of footguns, is really hard to maintain, is opaque to a lot of established tooling, is ffi-hostile due to design choices that cannot/will not be addressed...

we might be having a linux security apocalypse specifically because of the poor usability of mailing lists
I even wrote a patch at the time, which I sent to the maintainer and polkit-dev list. I can't find it in the archives though, so maybe it got bounced (I don't think I was subscribed). Wonder if the maintainer ever got it.
