What would you propose we should have done differently there? I think the pause was pretty short. Or are you talking about the public notification as well?

the same thing happened in Europe with Astra Zeneca, the rhetoric around AZ was even more extreme/misguided too

Maybe. But it was the right thing to do at the time with the info at hand. Since then the decision making process seems to have gone in the opposite direction.

I disagree. The risk turned out to be less than the natural risks for a clot and far less than the risk posed by other daily medications. It stoked fear and distrust and did lasting damage to vaccination efforts especially with how the media reported it.

Seriously, that's what caused my brother in law to not get vaccinated even though I told him i got J&J and was fine, now he's in the ER with COVID. I really hope his 1-year-old still has a dad soon.
