I was paying $550/month for health insurance this year.
Then I had an emergency and had to take an ambulance.
I got a bill for $1340. Insurance covers exactly $0 because I haven’t even come close to the $5000 deductible.
No @Lookinupatstars - this is planned; in the next two years there will be a surge of voters currently without ID applying for passports or provisional licences to be able to exercise their democratic right...
Incredible. When the Passport Office & DVLA already can’t cope and so many other services are chronically understaffed, they start this.
And insult our intelligence by saying it will help with the CoL crisis. They’re driving this country off a cliff. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…
Labour’s Deputy Leader Angela Rayner accuses Boris Johnson of “contempt for Parliament” for refusing to release security advice on Lebedev.
"This looks like a cover up and smells like a cover up because it is a cover up.”
Sharing this with permission from my friend Jen, who was arrested in her home a couple of days ago. If it can happen to her, it can (and probably will) happen to any of us. Authoritarianism is happening in the UK now -- we have to call it out for what it is.
The House of Commons voted back in March to compel Downing Street to release the advice Boris Johnson received from the security services about Lord Lebedev, by April 28th.
The government has still not released the documents two weeks after the deadline passed.
Please retweet if you want Labour, LibDems and Greens to cooperate at the next election in order to oust the Tories and introduce PR so that we never again have to endure a Tory Government with an 80 seat majority, secured with only 43% of the popular vote.
LET ME REMIND EVERYONE. I was at a Party in the early 90’s where #BorisJohnson came up to me making Monkey noises and tried to hand me a Water Melon. If you think that’s he’s fit to be PM then you’re as much of a racist PIG as he is
For fuck's sake.
Maths and physics are beautiful subjects. The barriers to entry are NOT difficulty, but attitudes like this and what is still a massively male dominated field and all the challenges that come from that when girls and women consider their careers.
“Physics isn’t something that girls tend to fancy. They don’t want to do it. They don’t like it… There’s a lot of hard maths in there that they don’t want to do.” 🤦🏻♀️ @Miss_Snuffy, UK Government Social Mobility Commission Chair #WomenInSTEMparliamentlive.tv/Event/Inde…
Final push on the protest elements in the #PolicingBill in Lords tonight.
The final three votes on the issues involved saw 81%, 80% and 76% of Lib Dem peers vote.
This compares with 28%, 2% and 26% of Labour peers.
They talk a lot, but they don’t always act when it matters.
