Can we PLEASE stop saying "People will still vote Tory despite...". OF COURSE! There'll always be about 40% voters who buy what the Tories sell at elections. And they've ALWAYS been the minority. Fixing the UK isn't about convincing them. It's about the Left working together!

It is and it isn't. We'd still have to get 100% perfect cooperation to win FPTP when the Tories are on 40%. That's how rigged it is. That's why 2019 was so important to win. It was probably the last election that could be won.

The untapped potential of non-voters might be useful.

Maybe. We're certainly going to have to find something because the system is rigged well beyond just getting more votes than the Tories.
Let's hope it's not the last ever election🤔 it was being debated before summer recess, with an 80 seat majority they'll change the rules if they so choose
We are now debating the government's plans to strip powers to call a general election from Parliament and hand it to Boris Johnson alone. Michael Gove talks about "faith in democracy" - this scheme amounts to the corruption of our democratic institutions.

That's my fear, though I suspect they'll be more subtle than that. Fixing the system so that only they can win is more the style of the modern dictator. Look at Putin, that's the model they are going for I suspect. Democracy on the surface, tyranny beneath.

We need a #DemocraticAlliance - @UKLabour @LibDems @TheGreenParty on one manifesto for one term: electoral reform, anti-corruption measures, SM+CU to save the economy. Not locally-organised long-shot tactical voting.

The election with labour infighting and libdems targeting labour voters rather than disgruntled Tories. It was important but too few realised

Lib Dem’s took Tory remainers. Corbyns refusal to back Remain led us to this place.
