It’s pretty stunning that absolutely nothing disqualifies someone from running for office now.

Hey, who is noticing that “post-pandemic normal” is a lot of “I’ve been knocked out by this cold for weeks” and “Sorry, we’ve had to cancel this event!” and “My kids are sick for the second time in two months!” and “Due to staffing shortages…” and “The ER wait was 10 hours!”

Verzuz is a real time example of what capitalism does to art and community lead projects. Takes something that was fun, unique, and ACCESSIBLE and sterilizes it, covers it in ads, and locks it behind a paywall
Verzuz is ruined. They're making it impossible to watch and there was ZERO buzz about tonight's matchup. They really fucked up a good thing.

Demographics are destiny:
The way people talk now about how much they hated being in an office, hated the commute, hated talking to colleagues, hated small talk, hated clock watching, makes me sad and confused. Were so many people so miserable and are feeling great now ?

I am notoriously bad with names. I have a black hole in my brain. But, I just recalled the name of every person I spent two days with in a manuscript reading last week. There is some trick in there that I need to learn how to harness.

Anyway these nine mofos are my new friends now whether they like it or not. I remember their names so we go together. I don’t have time for foolishness.

White women, a privilege you've probably never thought of: White boys and men commit most mass shootings. Notice how there's nobody asking you how you raise your kids. There's no nonprofit reports blaming you for societal problems. Black moms don't get that luxury.

generalized "hate" aint the problem, nor is generalized "extremism." The problem is white supremacist capitalist heteropatriarchy.* Let them tell it, they'll define the threat as broadly as possible and use that justification to harm us. *word to bell hooks

It's always the creepiest creepsters who feel perfectly fine telling you exactly why the supermodel who'd cross the room to avoid him in a bar because he has that not-gonna-take-no-for-an-answer vibe doesn't meet his high standards of beauty.

Next, spam isn’t just ‘binary’ (human / not human). The most advanced spam campaigns use combinations of coordinated humans + automation. They also compromise real accounts, and then use them to advance their campaign. So – they are sophisticated and hard to catch.

White supremacy (& Christianity, which has been a tool of white supremacy to keep it a buck) tricking us to love those who hurt us & plan to never change has harmed us physically & psychologically. Reposting this thread:
As a therapist, YES. You don’t need to forgive someone or go to someone else for closure to heal. All the tools for healing lie within yourself. Just have to to the work. Healing comes with self awareness, setting/respecting boundaries, changing behaviors, setting goals, etc
