It flies in the face of what it truly means to be a Democrat when you can’t see and empathize with the plight of others. Our political system became the best in the world due to reason and compromise. Those values aren’t “losing”, they’re mature and realistic.

I like that too.
Remember when Biden rallied the entire world to stand up to Putin? I like when American presidents challenge dictators rather than suck up to them.

Corporate greed is Chevron spending a jaw-dropping $75 billion on stock buybacks after posting a record $36.5 billion in profit. If there was ever a time to ban stock buybacks — or at least tax them more heavily — it's now.

I have, for years subscribed to the notion that anyone who uses the phrase “Patriot” in their bio is, indeed not a Patriot. Now I’ve come to the conclusion that the same can be said of anyone that uses the phrase “Alpha Male”. If ya gotta say it, ya probably ain’t “it”.

"Over the past 25 years, the healthcare industry spent $5B+ in lobbying and contributions. In 2020, the NRA spent ~$5M+ lobbying & ~$23M through its PAC. Last year, the oil & gas industry spent $120M on lobbying. Why is our democracy failing us? Answer: Big money in politics."

While people in Texas sit in the dark in freezing weather because Gov. Abbott can't be bothered to fix their failing power grid, he is spending tax payer money to send bus loads of immigrants north as a political stunt. He is the Republican party --@rob0349

The Fed raised interest rates again. That’s the eighth consecutive hike. They say even more are coming. This puts workers and consumers on the frontline of fighting inflation. But corporations largely responsible for driving up prices get away scot-free. It's outrageous.

There are 193 member nations in the United Nations. All but 11 guarantee some form of paid sick leave. Guess what? The U.S. is one of those 11. As a result, 33 million American workers have no paid sick leave from their employer. This is deeply inhumane. Paid leave. Now.

Watching MAGA and the Repubs freak out over the Grammys is entertaining. God, these people have zero life. None. Zip. Nada.

62% of Americans don't believe that President Biden has accomplished much in the first two years of his Administration. Yet, it has been one of the most successful Administrations, at the 2-year mark, in History. This is same, chronic messaging problem that plagues Democrats.

He’s right ( as usual), this isn’t Obama’s White House. There’s no need to take prisoners, Biden has the upper hand.
1. In 2011, Barack Obama entered into negotiations with House Republicans. They wanted the president to cut future spending in exchange for raising the debt ceiling to borrow more money.

By the way, the same corporations telling us they have no choice but to raise prices are simultaneously spending billions of dollars on stock buybacks to enrich their wealthy shareholders.

ISL ain’t going away, I wish it would. This is just kicking the can down the road, possibly setting it up to be timed right around the next presidential election, which is not good at all.

I’ve been on this app almost 3 years. I’ve followed the @TheRealHoarse since day one, so I’ve had the pleasure of reading a number of his great threads. I consider this one to be one of his best.
I grew up in this building. In 1983, our rent was $315 a month. It costs $4,200 a month now. Today, more adults aged 18-29 are still living at home with their parents than at any time since World War II. I wonder why. 1/2
