Jason Furman at Right Wing Cato Institute.
Replying to @matthewstoller
"Post-neoliberals share a deep skepticism of markets." This is very subtle red-baiting. It's just not true, the actual difference is we believe markets are politically constructed public institutions, whereas Furman thinks markets are natural entities that emerge from nowhere.

Thread on what's going on at the Right Wing propaganda tank--oh, I mean think tank, of course--Cato.

I've been hammering away at this with folks the past two years, don't assume something that blows up on political Twitter is all over the local TV stations that way more voters watch (or if it is, it may be getting reported way differently)
The latest Herschel Walker abortion scandal is on CNN and yes, all the DC folks are aware. But 11 Alive in Atlanta tonight led with crime, followed by more crime — so until Democrats take out ads about it, don’t assume voters in Georgia are aware or actively thinking about this.

This is absolutely massive ☄️Over 75% of our less politically engaged audience across the @CourierNewsroom network supports the decriminalization of marijuana. This is not a partisan issue, it’s a massively popular one. Let’s goooo 👊🏼🔊🇺🇸
Replying to @POTUS
First: I’m pardoning all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. There are thousands of people who were previously convicted of simple possession who may be denied employment, housing, or educational opportunities as a result. My pardon will remove this burden.

Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana. Hear from @POTUS on the three steps he is taking to right these wrongs.

"Almost half of all Americans say there’s not much ordinary citizens can do to influence how the government runs." This organization is trying to "counter that fatalism." Sounds good.

Horrible. We have to think about how to fix FOIA requests to prevent them from being weaponized against researchers this way.
Replying to @katestarbird
In particular, the 5 FOIA (public records) requests that my colleagues and I have received — some so broad that they’d require 100s of hours of work to assemble — essentially look like a denial of service attack, attempting to make it untenable to continue our research.
