In Germany commuters can now buy a monthly travel ticket for trains, buses & trams for €9 (£7.70), through Deutsche Bahn - their publicly owned railway company. Germans can travel their country, every day, for just a few quid. Our privatised system is a disaster by comparison.

I’d give the train drivers their pay rise then send the bill to Abellio, because this pay row has been brewing over the last few years. It was their inaction, and refusal to employ and train new drivers that got us into this situation in the first place. #bbcgms #ScotRail
