I do believe the official BA.5 death toll in the US is an undercount. Anyway, terminology: covid leading to death is critical/fatal covid. Severe covid can start mildly and results in hospitalization, prolonged disease, disability, and even death down the line

I am not tweeting this for sympathy. My sister, healthy, vibrant, young passed away from Covid complications this morning. She, along with so many others decided masking was no longer needed. Passed away from the virus most people think is gone or never existed. Please stay safe.
