London’s network of Cycleways is really busy today. 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲 Please cycle safely and be considerate of others - it’s not the Tour de France!

Register your bike! It is much much harder for the police to return the stolen bikes they recover if they aren't registered.
With the support of police forces across the UK, retailers, manufacturers and members of the public, BikeRegister is continuing to facilitate recoveries of stolen bikes that can then be returned to their rightful owner. Join the national cycle database at BikeRegister.com

Key fact: cycling is possibly the single biggest health intervention anyone can make in their life. As well as one of the cheapest. Especially for older people. In ⁦@thetimes⁩ How cycling can add years to your life thetimes.co.uk/article/midli…

Absolutely brilliant to see @BarnetCouncil launch their first play streets. I met with @alan_s01 & team last week and was impressed with the level of energy and ideas for the future of active travel in the borough.
Great to be at the launch of Barnet's first play streets with lots of friends and colleagues @anne_clarke @nigel_young1 @RedKaff @sarahsackman - all the kids (young and old!) had a good time!

London’s boroughs manage 95% of the capital’s streets & are vital partners in delivering @mayoroflondon’s safe & active travel policies. I’m delighted @tfl’s agreed £63m funding: delivering more school streets, 20mph, bike lanes, crossings & bus lanes. tfl-newsroom.prgloo.com/news…

There is still time to have your say! As part of the Journeys and Places programme, Enfield Council are proposing improvements to walking and cycling at the Maidstone Road filter/planters and along Brownlow Road (from York Road to Goring Road) in the Bowes area.

Fascinating visit to Stratford this am. The population of the 4 local boroughs has grown by size of Nottingham in last 20yrs & likely to do the same in next 20. Integration of active travel & public transport is vital to avoid bringing Nottingham’s traffic levels to East London

Fantastic to see another new London School Street go live today - Hazelwood School being delivered @EnfieldCouncil.
Thrilled to see the Hazelwood School Street begin today. One of the final batch of school streets I instigated, it’s great to see Cllr Rick Jewell get this one across the line. This administration will always look after the children of Enfield and there will be many more.

The NHS is more of a Sickness Service than a Health Service. Health spending is too focused on treating illness. Chronic disease continue to increase to unaffordable levels. We urgently need more investment in illness prevention - active travel & diet. theguardian.com/politics/202…
